Answering one of the most popular questions at parent gatherings, what does a SAHM do all day? I shall not speak for other SAHMs but this is what I, a SAHM, do all day long with Lauren.

What Can A SAHM Do All Day

1. Shower her with kisses
2. Nibble her fingers and toes
3. Give her bear hugs
4. Let her fall asleep in my arms
5. Watch her as she dreams
6. Tickle her and make her laugh
7. Crawl around with her
8. Let her chase after me
9. Sing to her
10. Read to her
11. Sleep next to her
12. Be her stepping stone
13. Catch her before she falls
14. Cheer her on as she masters a new skill
15. Play peekaboo
16. Stare into her eyes
17. Listen to her babble
18. Offer her advice
19. Prepare food the way she likes it
20. Tease her
21. Smell her hair
22. Be her pinching bag
23. Be her scratching board
24. Indulge her feeding frenzies

26. Give her hi-fives
27. Massage her

We SAHMs tend to feel guilty for not bringing in the pay check at the end of the month, don’t be! We have the rest of our lives to make money but watching Lauren smile for the first time, crawl for the first time, bang objects together for the first time… Priceless. I will not give this up for anything! So the next time anyone asks you, ‘What do you, a SAHM, do all day?” Just tell them all the lovely things we do!
